UKIP's Peter Whittle: 'We are going to have an investigation into what happened'

It's been a rough week but we will get to the bottom of it.

Peter Whittle

Peter Whittle, UKIP member of the London Assembley has spoken out about the shocking incident in Strasbourg which saw Steven Woolfe MEP hospitalised after being punched by a fellow party member.

Speaking this morning, Mr Whittle said: "We're going to have a full investigation into what happened, it's still rather sketchy. It's very bad and I'm very pleased that Steven seems to be making a good recovery"

He also insisted that the party is 'going nowhere' and claimed UKIP is 'stronger than ever' despite a week which also saw Diane James step down as leader.

"It's been a rough week but we will get to the bottom of it."
