Canadian Christine Archibald has been named as the first victim to have died in Saturday night's terror attack in London. A family statement, which described her as a "beautiful, loving daughter and sister" urged people to do good deeds in her name: "Please honour her by making your community a better place. Volunteer your time and labour or donate to a homeless shelter. Tell them Chrissy sent you."
Police have conducted two early morning raids connected to the London attack. According to officials, officers from the Met’s Counter Terrorism Command entered two addresses, one in Newham and another in Barking, at around 4.15am. Met police confirmed a "number of people" have been detained and are being spoken to and searches are ongoing at both addresses.
Meanwhile, twelve people have been arrested in connection with the London Bridge attack, after at least four police vans were seen stationed behind a cordon outside flats in King's Road, Barking, and residents reported hearing bangs on Sunday morning. Metropolitan Police confirmed on Sunday night that they were detaining seven women aged between 19 and 60 under the Terrorism Act following the raid.
Around 50,000 people attended the benefit concert put on by Ariana Grande in Manchester last night, with emotional appearances by Justin Bieber, Coldplay, Take That, Katy Perry, Miley Cyrus, Liam Gallagher, Pharrell Williams, Black Eyed Peas and more. Over £2 million was raised for those affected by the bombing at Manchester Arena last month.
President Donald Trump has expressed support for the UK in the wake of the recent attacks, saying the U.S. will do everything it can to help bring those guilty to justice as he told reporters, "this bloodshed must end".
