Paul Gascoigne: 'I want to be happy and sober'
When I’m having a bad day I do the wrong things, I turn my phone off and lock myself indoors
Paul Gascoigne, one of the greatest football talents Britain has ever produced, spoke exclusively to Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid of his desire to be "happy and sober".
The former England footballer who has had several stints in rehab for drugs and alcohol addiction, said: “I always tell people I’m an alcoholic but give us credit – I worked on it."
Speaking of the days he’s doing well, Paul admitted: “This is the time I have to be really careful, when I’m feeling good. I’m down but I’m not out. I had my good years."
He added: “I want to be happy and sober. It’s about getting the happiness, getting the balance right.”
