Mum slammed over baby 'self-rescue' video

A Florida mum is fighting back against critics after a video of her baby trying to stay afloat in a pool went viral.

The video was posted to Facebook on by Keri Morrison with the caption: "So hard to watch but every kid should learn this young!" It shows her baby girl sitting on the steps of a pool reaching for a shoe. She falls head-first into the water and then floats on her back all on her own.

The technique is called Infant Swimming Resource or ISR, which teaches children as young as six months old how to "self-rescue".

Keri - whose young son died in a drowning accident three years ago - says she's making a point about teaching children to survive in water at an early age.
