How to protect your children online

Fifty per cent of school children admit they've seen sexual, violent and other adult material on social media sites, apps and games, according to an NSPCC survey, which also showed 78 per cent reported that they had joined social media sites before reaching the minimum age of 13, as stipulated by many in the terms and conditions.

Online safety expert Penny Limer opens up about a very close family member who was approached and groomed by two men online who threatened her life and made her watch them perform sex acts.

If you've got young children and a webcam in your house then make sure you reset the password - watch for more of Penny's advice.

The top five sites where young people reported seeing inappropriate content were Sickipedia (100% of children surveyed), Chatroulette (92%), Omegle (89%), Ask.fm (88%), and Yik Yak (74%).
