Eighty thousand people in the UK pose a threat to children online says Sajid Javid
At least 80,000 people in the UK pose a sexual threat to children online with authorities seeing a 700 percent increase in the number of child abuse referrals in the last five years.
That’s according to Home Secretary Sajid Javid, who said he will make it his personal mission to tackle child abuse.
Jim Gamble, a child protection expert said: “The government need to stop recycling news. Do something different and do something better. That means how the internet is integrated into the lives of children.”
The Home Secretary admits these criminals are as sophisticated as terrorists in hiding their tracks.
