Action is needed to recover costs from 'health tourists'
It is entirely inappropriate to ask health care professionals, that’s doctors and nurses to act as border guards
The NHS is losing hundreds of millions of pounds a year as money owed by so-called health tourists isn't recovered, according to MPs today.
The Public Accounts Committee says that "chaotic" systems mean the NHS is far short of a target to recover £500 million a year from overseas patients by 2018.
