Is it outdated to say 'ladies first'?
After The Apprentice viewers expressed anger at the phrase 'ladies first' being used multiple times in the final, this morning we were debating whether the term is now outdated.
Is it patronising to hold the door open for women and use phrases such as 'lovely ladies' - or should we appreciate what's left of good old-fashioned chivalry?
On the show to discuss the topic was TV personality Lizzie Cundy, who thinks it's good manners and The Sunday Times' Eleanor Miller, who thinks it's outdated.
