Tony Hadley 'no longer a member of Spandau Ballet'
Tony Hadley has announced he has quit Spandau Ballet due to 'circumstances beyond his control'.
The singer-songwriter, who has fronted the London-based band since 1979, put a statement on his Twitter page saying: "I am no longer a member of the band Spandau Ballet and will not be performing with the band in future."
Fans replied in their droves to express their dismay at the news.
User @Julesyann said: "I've been a fan of Spandau since 1980 - I'm heartbroken to hear this news" while @nessynoo71 said: "Oh Tony! We've all loved you as the voice of Spandau & on your own & tho we're heartbroken, we will respect whatever you do xx".
The band, which enjoyed the height of their fame in the 1980s, are known for songs such as Gold and True.
