Priscilla Presley on Elvis: 'He was really alone'
I think that he would always have his demons
Elvis Presley's ex-wife Priscilla Presley has told Good Morning Britain she thinks her superstar spouse would have battled the same demons if he was still alive today.
In a UK exclusive, Richard Arnold caught up with Priscilla 40 years on from Elvis’s death.
Speaking ahead of a special performance in Memphis, she said: “I wish that I could share with him knowledge. Because he really was alone. He really didn’t have a peer, not with a group and not really with anyone.”
Asked whether Elvis would have overcome his demons had he survived that night, she said: “No, I don’t [think he would have]. I think that he would always have his demons. Elvis was a thinker. He was a searcher. His mother had demons, his father had demons. We all have demons obviously; I don’t want to make it bigger than it is. They were a close family but there was always a little bit of sadness in them.”
