Model Gigi Hadid apologises for Melania Trump impersonation

Model Gigi Hadid has hand-written an apology to anyone who was offended by her impersonation of incoming First Lady Melania Trump at the American Music Awards.

Gigi, who is dating former One Direction star Zayn Malik, gently poked fun at Slovenian-born Trump during the entertainment show, mimicking her accent and making reference to rumours that she took inspiration from Michelle Obama's campaign speech for her own.

The skit sparked some cries of outrage online and Hadid subsequently apologised in a hand-written note she posted on her Twitter page.
