Steak with creamy soy and wasabi sauce
Add some zing to your steaks with wasabi or horseradish and serve with salad or a baked sweet potato.
(Serves 2)
Ingredients:
75 ml half-fat crème fraiche2 tbsp soy sauce½ tsp wasabi paste or horseradish (check ingredients when buying pre-made paste - there should be no added sugar or hydrogenated fats)2 x 150g steaks (sirloin is the best option, but as long as it a good frying steak)1 tbsp vegetable oil
Method:
Put the crème fraiche in a bowl and stir in soy sauce and wasabi paste. Set aside
Season the steaks on both sides and brush the steaks with oil
Heat a heavy-based non-stick pan, add steaks and cook for 2½ minutes on each side for rare, or 3 minutes for medium
Allow steaks to rest for 5 minutes, then serve with the sauce on the side
Serve with a baked sweet potato or a large salad
