Danny Jones puts on his footy boots to play #Game4Grenfell

Pop star Danny Jones joined us on this morning's show to talk about playing footy instead of his guitar in this weekend's charity match Game4Grenfell, organised to show support for the community affected so tragically by the Grenfell Tower disaster.

We also talked about the rumours of him replacing Gavin Rossdale on The Voice, and his excitement about impending fatherhood!

Watch the full interview above.

The McFly star will be lining up against our very own Ben Shepherd in this weekend's match, which includes a host of other celebrities and ex-pros. Fellow singer Richard Ashcroft and Newcastle United legend Alan Shearer are among the signings.

QPR’s Loftus Road stadium will play host to the game, which kicks off at 3pm.

The fixture is the brainchild of QPR Chairman Tony Fernandes, Director of Football Les Ferdinand and Columbia Records' Ferdy Unger-Hamilton, and it's hoped that the legacy will extend well beyond the game itself, thanks primarily to the involvement of Marcus Mumford, lead singer of Mumford & Sons, who is the driving-force of a newly-launched free summer football programme for the young children of Grenfell.

Tickets for #Game4Grenfell are £15 for adults and £5 concessions. Click here for more information.
