Sean Fletcher - Presenter
Every day is different working here at Good Morning Britain. One day I might be in the studio presenting from the sofa, the next, I could be off around the country meeting people and filming for the the show.
I've been training for the London marathon wherever the job has taken me... Brazil, USA, Australia and closer to home around England and Wales. I'm very excited - and very nervous.
I'm running the marathon this year in memory of my mum - Carol Fenny Fletcher. She died nine years ago from bowel cancer and not a day goes by when I don't think of her and remember her. I know she would be so proud of me doing this. If bowel cancer is treated early, there's a 90% chance of returning to normal health. My mum found out too late but I want to raise awareness for other people affected by this disease.
Marianne Garvey - Specials Producer
My job is really varied and really busy, it's definitely one of those jobs where you never know what a day will hold. I've filmed with Dr Hilary on the ski slopes of Austria, travelled through Australia with Sean Fletcher and just last month I was hiding out in gardens across the country as we prepared to surprise mums for Mother's Day.
I’m running the marathon for ACF Kenya UK - a project in East Africa that works to transform the lives of Kenyan orphans and vulnerable children through providing education, shelter, nutrition and medicine.
Claire Mooney - Output News Producer
I’m Claire Mooney also known as Moon - and I feel very lucky to be part of Good Morning Britain’s marathon team. I’m one of the Output News Producers on the show. Every day is different for me – I go from briefing Ed Miliband to Keith Lemon and it’s not unheard of to dance with the Fonz to Florence and The Machine. I write scripts and put together VT’s (video tape) and I LOVE EVERY MINUTE.
I’m running for Cancer Research UK as cancer sadly seems to run in my family and I’m doing this in memory of my lovely aunty who passed last year. I’ve ran a marathon before but forgot how gruelling it is, so please don’t remind me. I’ve already lost one toenail training - so that’s one less thing to worry about. I’ll see you at the finish line… hopefully!
Martin Dixon - Freelance Researcher
I'm a freelance researcher at GMB and Lorraine, I work in across all different departments so I'm always doing something different. I book guests or write scripts, sometimes I'm in the studio or in the office. I used to be a runner so I bought props and got the presenters their breakfasts which was the most important job I've ever had.
I'm doing the marathon as a personal challenge - of the whole team I think I'm the least exercise friendly but since doing the training I might be a convert. I'm also running to raise money for my friend's niece to have an operation.
Georgina Leggate - Senior Planning Producer
As Senior Planning Producer I plan news stories and big events that are happening in the weeks and months ahead. This means I need to be very organised, use a lot of "postit" notes and drink a lot of coffee! I am really nervous about running the London marathon. I have a bit of a dodgy knee which I have only experienced during my training! But I am determined to complete it!
I'm running the Virgin Money London Marathon to raise money for The Amy May Trust, a charity which was set up after a colleague experienced a catastrophic anaphylaxis whilst on holiday in April last year, after a single bite of her food. She has had a severe nut allergy all her life and is now recovering in hospital.
Lyndsay Butler - Senior Competitions Producer
I’m Lyndsay and I’m one of the producers on the competitions team for both Good Morning Britain and Lorraine. From Blackpool to the Bahamas, my job is lots of fun, has plenty of variety and keeps me very busy. I mainly work with Andi Peters although have been known to bump into some famous faces on shoots.
The moment I found out that I had a place on the Marathon Team was a mixture of emotions –initial joy followed by, what on earth were you thinking! Those feelings have not really left me throughout the training with the latter getting louder as the runs get longer. I'm running the London Marathon for the Alzheimer's Society after losing my lovely Grandpa to the illness five years ago.
Benjamin Fergie - Senior Producer (Lorraine)
As a senior producer, my job can often involve very early starts, my alarm goes off at 3am and when I get into the office it's very quiet indeed! As a producer for the Lorraine show I spend a few days building up to the programme I produce, and on a daily basis I'm working on anything from human interest to showbiz and fashion items.
I'm running the Virgin Money London Marathon for two reasons - firstly it's been a long term ambition and secondly and more importantly - I'm running for a charity called Teddy's Wish which was set up in honour of Edward (the son of two of my best friends), who was the victim of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome.
Sarah Barrington - Operations Manager
My job here is Operations Manager - essentially making sure people are in the right place at the right time. This involves dealing with lots of people, hence why I am probably looking to the canine species for inspiration and motivation!
I'm running the Virgin Money London Marathon for the Dogs Trust. Dog's bring a lot of joy to people's lives and are of course great companions, there are so many that need rehoming and caring for. I want to help our four legged friends by raising as much as possible to help this great charity carry on caring.
