Good Morning Britain gets action for two Windrush scandal victims

The Windrush scandal affected thousands of lives, lead to the resignation of the Home Secretary Amber Rudd and even sparked calls for the Theresa May to step down as Prime Minister.

Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid welcomed back two Windrush scandal victims to today’s Good Morning Britain whose cases have now been resolved.

Anthony Bryan was told that after 52 years in the country he was here illegally and would be deported, while Clayton Barnes, who went back to Jamaica for work, was told he had no right to come back to UK to his family.

GMB pledged action after their stories featured on the programme and today celebrated their resolution.

A tearful Samantha, who's now reunited with her father after eight years said: “It’s actually amazing. I didn’t think it was ever going to happen. For me, I’m thrilled - it’s great for my kids, it’s great for my dad, it’s great for me, I thank you a lot, I do.”

What is the Windrush generation?
