Why we forgive school machete attacker
It's been twenty years since a normal school day for pupils and staff at St Luke's School in Wolverhampton ended in devastating circumstances as a man brandishing a machete leapt over a hedge into the playground where children were enjoying a teddy bears picnic and started slashing anyone in sight
Three children and four adults were injured in the attack, while many more were protected by heroine and teacher Lisa Potts who used her own body as a barrier between schizophrenic Horrett Campbell and the pupils, sustaining horrific injuries in the process. She went on to be awarded the George Medal for her bravery.
Lisa joins us with one of the pupils she saved, Francesca Quintyne-Peart, ahead of the anniversary on Thursday. Both tell us about how the experience changed their lives and how they forgive attacker Horrett Campbell.
