Warning over 'exploding' tables
A mum has issued a warning after a glass-topped garden table apparently "exploded" beside her four-year-old son Ethan.
The boy was covered in glass, but luckily his eyes were protected by sunglasses. Helen Jordan issued the warning on social media after the incident took place at her home near Newcastle involving a table sold at Asda.
We're joined by consumer expert Alice Beer who tells you what your rights are if you've got one of the tables.
A spokesperson for Asda told us that over 14,000 of the tables has been sold and they'd only had this isolated incident reported to them.
They added: "Unfortunately due to the nature of the damage and the resultant fracturing of the glass it is not possible for us to ascertain when or where the damage may have occurred to the product. We have investigated this rare occurrence. We apologise to the customer and will be in touch with a resolution."
