TV presenter John McCririck has died aged 79

Horse racing pundit John McCririck has died at the age of 79 after suffering illness in recent months, his family has announced.

Famous for his flamboyant dress sense and larger-than-life personality, McCririck became a feature of TV horse racing coverage during the 1980s.

He also made a host of appearances on Reality TV shows including Wife Swap and the sixteenth series of Big Brother in 2015 where he memorably locked horns with Jackie Stallone.

McCririck began his career as an award-winning journalist before working at ITV and Channel 4 on his beloved horse racing. He quickly became famous for his quirky style and outrageous personality.
