'The NHS failed my baby son'
William made parenting the best job in the world. He made love easy. He made everything wonderful.
NHS out-of-hours services cannot be relied on to spot serious illnesses in children, a shocking NHS England report has said following the death of a 12 month old.
Little William Mead died on 14 December 2014 from sepsis - which could have been avoided. His death was the result of sixteen shocking mistakes made by doctors and the NHS 111 helpline.
The report says parents are at the mercy of flawed computer programmes which are unable to easily identify when children and babies are deteriorating. It also points to the lack of proper NHS care over the weekend - and to the growing national pressures on GPs.
William's mum Melissa joins GMB to tell us why she decided to go public with the report.
