Slime: the craze taking over the UK

It's the craze that is taking over the UK - a sticky mixture of glue and kitchen cupboard essentials creates slime. Teenagers across Britain are obsessed with the concoction - but how is it made?

How to make slime at home

We asked Mark Thompson, a science broadcaster and author to show us how to make slime.

What you'll need

  • 125ml of PVA glue

  • Half a teaspoon of bicarbonate of soda

  • Food colouring

  • 3/4 tablespoon contact lens solution

How to make it

  • Take your PVA glue and place it in a large bowl.

  • Combine the PVA glue with the bicarbonate of soda.

  • Add a splash of food colouring.

  • Continue to mix the mixture with the contact lens solution.

  • When the mixture starts to come together and doesn't stick to the side of the bowl you're done.

  • Enjoy!
