Whoopi Goldberg on Sister Act's 'different direction'

Living legend Whoopi Goldberg has exclusively told Good Morning that she has been begging Disney bosses for a return of Sister Act - and it might happen.

The Sister Act star, 62, told Kate Garraway that execs at the company are looking into the idea of the film returning, but not in its original format. She hinted that if the franchise does come back it won't star all of the original cast and would go in a "different direction".

Whoopi said: “We’ve been all over Disney begging. They’ve decided that they’re going to go in a different direction with Sister Act. So it won’t be Sister Act 3 it will be a brand new rendition of Sister Act, and I guess I’ll walk through a scene and that’s how they’ll say I was part of it.”
