Should grid girls be banned?

Formula One is considering getting rid of grid girls, calling it outdated and sexist.

Is the use of promotional models in sport wrong or a harmless tradition?

This morning we were joined by two women who have both played important roles in F1, but have very different views on the way they think women should participate.

Former grid girl Caroline Hall said the women are only doing their job and aren’t in their position to stand there looking pretty.

We were also joined by former ITV F1 presenter, Beverley Turner, who thinks it’s very antiquated and believes women can play a more important role in the industry.

She said: “There are no female drivers, there are no female team owners, there are very few women in positions of power.”
