Lawrence Dallaglio and Andrew Ridgeley help raise over a million pounds on cycle ride

Rugby legend Lawrence Dallaglio swept across Europe on two wheels, as he took part in an ambitious charity cycle ride called The Dallaglio Cycle Slam.

Lawrence led a team of 29 riders took on a route of just short of 2000km through the stunning Swiss and French Alps, the lakes of Italy and the coastline of Slovenia and Croatia.

The Slam was split into three stages and took place over a gruelling 18 days. And they were not alone, the main 30 riders were supported by up to 170 stage riders along the way.

Bravely joining Lawrence's team on the challenge were fellow rugby legend Austin Healey, singer Andrew Ridgeley and actor John Hannah, providing much-needed camaraderie.

The ride was to raise money for the Lawrence Dallaglio’s youth development and social inclusion programme. The riders reached their target by raising over a million pounds.
