Remember the £350m Brexit bus? Well, there's another one doing the rounds

Remember the 'Boris Bus' that travelled around the country in the run-up to the independence referendum?

It promised £350million for the NHS if the UK voted Leave. But the cash never appeared, setting a new benchmark for lost trust between politicians and the public when Nigel Farage announced he didn't back the figure the day after the UK voted to leave the EU.

More than a year on, political figures have decided it's a good idea to send another bus around the country. Once again, it's red and has a big pound symbol on the side.

The Brexit battle bus is posing the question over whether the supposed £2,000million a week cost of leaving the EU is worth it. It started on a national tour this morning, departing from Luton before heading down the M1 for a photo call at Westminster Bridge in central London.

Senior Labour politician, Chukka Umanna was on board with anti-Brexit campaigner Gina Miller, the woman behind a legal battle to prevent the UK from leaving the European Union.

On social media, users blasted the bus.

One Twitter user wrote: "So the people vote in a referendum and the majority decide we want out of the EU. Now there is an attempt to change people’s minds. Ridiculous why have a referendum if we doubt the ability of the general public to make decisions based on what they believe in."

Another added: "What democracy? The people made a decision which there is an attempt to reverse because the result didn't suit."

But not everybody was opposed to the bus, one Twitter user remarked: "At last! Someone spreading some facts about this catastrophe. Good luck guys!"
