Prince Louis’ christening: official photos

Official photos have been released of Prince Louis’ christening which took place in a private ceremony yesterday.

The Duchess of Cambridge is pictured proudly carrying Louis as the royal family of five arrived at Chapel Royal, St James’ Palace in London. 11-week-old Louis was baptised by the Archbishop of Canterbury and wore a replica of the royal christening robe, first worn in 1841.

Kate was heard happily describing her baby boy as "very relaxed and peaceful", and confessed to the archbishop: "I hope he stays like this."

The Queen and Duke of Edinburgh were not in attendance, but Buckingham Palace stated that it was not on health grounds, and that the decision had been made ‘some time ago.’
