Piers Morgan suggests Dame Vera Lynn hologram should sing Rule Britannia on Last Night of The Proms

Piers Morgan said he'd consider having a hologram of Dame Vera Lynn sing Rule, Britannia! at the Last Night of The Proms as the debate about the song's suitability continues.

"Have a hologram of her singing Rule, Britannia! and Land of Hope and Glory, which she’s sung many, many times, including I think at The Proms, and have the entire country sing along and not be ashamed by it," he said.

Piers was speaking following a Good Morning Britain debate about the song, which reportedly may now actually be sung at the Last Night of The Proms after all.

Femi Nylander said the debate about whether the song should be sung should focus on wider issues and the "actual material results today" of the history of slavery and colonialism, which he believes the song celebrates.

Eve Pollard argued that Rule, Britannia! is "patriotic" and was "not meant to offend anyone". She said that if people were offended by the song there should be "a national discussion about it".
