Anti-lockdown protestor Piers Corbyn challenged by Dr Hilary over COVID-19 'hoax' claims
Dr Hilary challenged Piers Corbyn's theories about coronavirus, dismissing his claims that it doesn't exist and his views on the effectiveness of vaccines as "extremely dangerous".
Speaking to Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid on Good Morning Britain, Corbyn, who was arrested and fined for his part in organising an anti-lockdown protest in London, explained why he doesn't believe in the virus. He claimed that those who've died from COVID-19 could have died as a result of "something else" and said there was "no justification for continuing lockdown whatsoever".
"What we have is a psychological operation to close down the economy," he said.
Dr Hilary said Corbyn's statements were "littered with dangerous errors", debunking his claims about the virus and explaining the science that has proven COVID-19 is "a new virus and has nothing to do with viruses we've seen in the last 40 years".
Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid also challenged him on his views, arguing that they were an insult to the families of those who've died.
"More than 40,000 people have died in this country as a result of COVID directly," Susanna said. "What an insult to their family to say it's some kind of fiction to boost international pharmaceutical companies."
"What you're saying is an insult to the families of every single one of the 800,000 plus people who've died from a deadly virus that has swept this planet," Piers Morgan added. "And for you to come on television and tell those families what killed your relative doesn't exist is a slap in the teeth."
