Nappy nation - are the UK's kids potty trained?
An increasing number of primary school children are starting school while still in nappies, research has revealed. Last year, 1,600 pupils over five were still wearing nappies at school according to research carried out by National Foundation for Educational Research.
Teachers also warned that growing numbers of young children were starting school without other basic skills, such as being able to hold a knife and fork properly or use a paintbrush. We spoke to ex-teacher Susan Elkin about this growing problem.
