Today's the day to book cheap Christmas flights

Urgent! Cheapest Easyjet tickets today, Tesco Brand Match, ‘free’ £13 Amazon codes, £20 unlimited EE Sim, and ‘free’ Neal’s Yard hand cream. These are our Money Saving Expert Martin Lewis’ Deals of the Week.

Remember, deals can change quickly, even while I’m on the programme. So always double-check the terms and conditions before spending. Plus, while I hope these deals will save you cash, don’t spend if you can’t afford it, don’t need it, or won’t use it.

Today is the cheapest time to book Easyjet seats for Christmas

Easyjet’s prices are fluid and move based on demand for any particular flight. So when they’re usually launched they’re priced cheaply and can quickly change depending on how many are being booked. So if you can pounce when they’re launched, you’re often getting the very cheapest deal.

It releases tickets five times a year and today (Thursday) tickets go on sale for travel between 30 October 2016 and 5 February 2017, so including the Christmas break. For full details of how to slash the cost and what is released when, see Martin’s ‘17 Easyjet tricks’ guide.

There is no exact release time – different seats are put on sale at different points throughout the day, so keep checking – and prices can and do change rapidly. So it’s a question of repeated trial and error to see if it looks good.

I can’t guarantee that today will have the cheapest tickets, as if there’s no demand prices might drop later. Though if this does happen (not due to a sale), Easyjet has a policy that you can call it up and it’ll give you the difference back in vouchers towards another Easyjet flight.

I told you the same last time it launched tickets, to huge feedback – including Mark who tweeted: “You’re not wrong! Booked 4 seats to Faro in Aug at 7.15am for £666, and within 15 mins they went up by £200, then £300 again by 11am!”

‘Free’ £13 AmazonThere are two Amazon free codes available at the moment. As long as you’ve had an active account for more than a few weeks, and haven’t bought gift cards in the last couple of years, you’re likely to be eligible for both.

The first is a buy £30 gift cards get £7 code. As gift cards are valid ten years, this is effectively a ‘if you’ll spend £30 on Amazon in the next ten years here’s a free £7’. You need to do this by 14 May and the £7 code needs to be used by 30 June.

The second is a top up £60 on your account get £6 code. This works in the same way as above, but instead of buying a new gift card it adds credit to your Amazon account – and again it lasts ten years. You need to do this by 24 April and you need to use the £6 code by 11 June.

However, you can’t just do one then the other. Click both links first to check you’re eligible, before signing up to either, then once you’ve clicked both, sign up to them.

Martin’s quickies:

Tesco accepting Sainsbury’s Brand Match vouchers – even if they’re out of date

On Tuesday 26 April Sainsbury’s will stop its ‘Brand Match’ scheme, where it gives you a voucher for the difference back if items would have been cheaper elsewhere. You then only have two weeks to use it before it expires. Yet until 30 June you can take Sainsbury’s Brand Match vouchers – even ones that have expired – to a Tesco Extra, Superstore or Metro store, where they’ll be accepted. So scour your purse, wallet or drawers for them. You can only use one voucher per transaction though, but you could always split your shop up.

Ends today. £20 unlimited-use Sim. For new and existing customers (though if you’re existing you can’t keep your old number), EE has a 12-month Sim-only deal: unlimited minutes and texts and a massive 16GB of 4G data, more than most people will use. Plus if you go via Mobiles.co.uk you’ll automatically get an extra £40 cashback – so factor that in and it’ll actually only cost £16.66/month (standard price for this Sim is £35 a month).

‘Free’ £10 Neal’s Yard cream: On May’s edition of Marie Claire magazine(£3.99 with model Marloes Horst on the cover) you’ll get a full-size (50ml) Neal’s Yard hand cream, normally £10. So it’s worth doing if you’d have got the freebie anyway, as it’s worth more than the mag. There’s three hand creams available: geranium & orange, bee lovely, and garden mint & bergamot.
