Cheapest Easyjet tickets and free cocktails

Urgent! Cheapest Easyjet tickets today, cheapest Xmas borrowing (if you must), Soap & Glory, £10 West End theatre tickets and free cocktails till Saturday. These are our Money Saving Expert Martin Lewis’ Deals of the Week.

Remember, deals can change quickly, even while I’m on the programme. So always double-check the terms and conditions before spending. Plus, while I hope these deals will save you cash, don’t spend if you can’t afford it, don’t need it, or won’t use it.

Today is the cheapest time to book Easyjet seats for next year’s October half-term

Easyjet's prices are fluid and move based on demand for any particular flight. So when they’re usually launched, they’re priced cheaply and can quickly change depending on how many are being booked. So if you can pounce when they’re launched, you’re often getting the very cheapest deal.

It releases tickets four times a year and today (Thursday) tickets go on sale for travel between 5 September and 30 October 2016, including the half-term. There is no exact release time – different seats are put on sale at different points throughout the day, so keep checking – and prices can and do change rapidly. So it’s a question of repeated trial and error to see if it looks good.

I can’t guarantee that today will have the cheapest tickets, as if there’s no demand prices might drop later. Though if this does happen (not due to a sale), Easyjet has a policy that you can call it up and it’ll give you the difference back in vouchers towards another Easyjet flight.

If you must borrow for Christmas, do it at 27 months 0%

Every year I warn against borrowing for Christmas – it’s just not worth ruining the new year for this one day. But if it’s too late and you’ve already planned a necessary purchase then at least do it as cheaply as possible. In fact you can do it at no cost at all, so long as you follow my golden rules.

If you already have a credit card then there’s no need to get another; all credit cards let you spend on them interest free for one month providing you clear them IN FULL the next month. So as long as you know you can do this you can spend now and pay it off in January at no cost.

If you know you can’t clear the card IN FULL the following month, then a 0% spending card lets you borrow interest free. Use Martin’s free eligibility checker to see which you’ll most likely be accepted for. The longest card is 27 months 0% borrowing with the Post Office credit card (as long as you make a purchase in the first three months) – that’s the longest ever 0% spending card. Or Clydesdale gives 26 months 0%. Yet if this is for Christmas borrowing, do aim to clear far sooner so you’re not still repaying this next Christmas.

If you go for one of these cards, never miss the minimum monthly repayment and clear the card before the 0% ends or the rate will rocket to 18.9% representative APR. And never withdraw cash, it’s costlier and hits your credit file.

Martin’s quickies:

- Soap & Glory ‘It’s The Whole She-bang’ gift-set £30. This is massivelypopular every year, and if you goonline or in store from Friday at 7am Boots is reducing the Soap & Glory gift-set from £60 to £30 as part of its weekly ‘star gift’. The nine-piece set comes in a pink ‘limited edition’ make-up bag and includes a body buffer, shower gel, hand cream, mascara and lip gloss. I’ve valued the items individually and it’d be around £68, so for £30 this is a decent deal. Delivery is £3.50 or you can collect in store for free. Last year this sold out in five days, and I suspect the same will happen again, so if you want one you’ll need to act quick.

- £10 - £40 tickets to Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, The Lion King and more West End shows. Go online to Get Into London Theatreand if you’re lucky you’ll be able to get £10-£40 tickets (usually up to £72.50) for West End shows from 1 January – 12 February 2016. There were around 140,000 tickets available when they first went on sale on Tuesday 8 December and they’re available across various dates and performances, such as Wicked, Matilda, The Nutcracker and The Lion King. You can only get eight tickets per booking and once they’re gone they’re gone. So if you want them go now.

- Free cocktail from Pitcher & Piano EVERYDAY till Saturday. Register with Pitcher & Piano and you’ll be emailed a unique code everyday till Saturday (existing members will already be emailed) for a free cocktail, which is normally around £8. The code is only valid on the day you get it and you need to print it or show it on your phone in any Pitcher & Piano bar to receive a free cocktail, which’ll change daily. Last time it had a promo on, cocktails included a Jack Daniel’s wild berry cocktail and a Havana Club mojito – though what you’ll get this time round is unknown. Or if you prefer you can get a soft drink instead. Please be Drinkaware.
