Over half a million people living with schizophrenia in the UK aren't getting access to the treatment and care they need, according to Rethink Mental Health
A new survey commissioned by the charity of over 1,000 people with the condition and their carers has revealed for the first time the shocking and widespread impact on recovery and wellbeing of long waiting times for basic recommended therapies.
As part of Schizophrenia Awareness Week, which this year runs 5-10 October, a new campaign video has been released to raise awareness of the fact that one in 100 people are affected and many are not getting the right support.
We talk to Jonny Benjamin, who tried to take his own life after a diagnosis of schizophrenia in 2008.
He was about to jump off Waterloo Bridge when a stranger talked him out of it - and after launching a campaign to find the man who saved his life they were reunited on ITV's Daybreak.
