Johnny Depp to star in Fantastic Beasts sequel
Actor Johnny Depp will play a lead in the sequel to JK Rowling's Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, it has been confirmed.
Depp, who recently hit headlines because of his divorce from actress Amber Heard, will playma co-starring role in the sequel with Eddie Redmayne again in the lead role of Newt Scamander. Filming is due to begin before the end of the year according to Deadline.
Fantastic Beasts documents the adventures of writer Newt in New York's secret community of witches and wizards seventy years before Harry Potter reads his book in school.
Rowling confirmed last month that there would be three movies in the making. The first film goes on release here later this month.
