Is it time to ditch old words from the dictionary?

The Oxford Junior Dictionary have removed words such as "acorn" and "bluebell", and replaced them with modern words such as "blog" and "chatroom".

More than 175,000 have signed a petition calling to reinstate the nature-related words, including the rapper teacher Christian Foley, who rapped some of the words at the centre of the controversy.

To take part in this fiery debate we were joined by teacher Samantha James, who supported the removal of the old dictionary words and said we need to move with the times.

On the other side of the argument was broadcaster Yasmeen Khan, who said kids need to know these words and connect more with the outside world rather than social media.

Watch the debate in full above.

Here's Christian the rapper teacher giving us a lyrical lesson about the words that have been added and removed from the Oxford Junior Dictionary.
