Improvement in low pay to be set out

A blueprint for a dramatic improvement in low pay will be set out in the final report of the independent Living Wage Commission, Chaired by the Archbishop of York, and published today.

The landmark report will call for a significant decrease in the number of people paid less than the Living Wage, currently 5.2 million people, and will set out how this can be achieved, including the industries in which there is the greatest potential for improvements in low pay. The Commission has brought together leading figures from business, trades unions, academia and civil society who have spent 12 months assessing low pay in the UK and how it can be tackled.
