Could gender-free classrooms help address the pay gap between men and women ?

Statistics show that on average women are paid 18% less than men, and based on current progress it will take 62 years to bridge the pay gap. No one can afford to wait that long! So does the answer lie in removing gender differences at an early age in the school classroom?

TV show No More Boys And Girls explores this very idea. For six weeks, Graham Andre teaches kids in a gender-free classroom at Lanesend Primary School on the Isle of Wight by turning against the norms and conducting a series of experiments to challenge the idea that boys and girls are fundamentally different.

Graham and the show's presenter Dr Javid Abdelmoneim came in this morning to discuss the project and give their thoughts. Watch full report and interview above.

'It's all about not limiting children' - Dr Javid Abdelmoneim

The topic has stirred plenty of debate on social media. Let us know your thoughts on Twitter and Facebook pages.
