Fancy dress spot checks in run up to Halloween

With Halloween just a month away, the government has launched an investigation into the fire safety of children's fancy dress costumes. The crackdown will involve spot checks on retailers by trading standards officers across the UK.

It comes a year after Claudia Winkleman's daughter suffered serious burns when her witch's outfit caught alight while she was trick or treating. Consumer expert Alice Beer is here to tell us exactly what is the investigation going to look at.
