Calls for Theresa May to resign after 'disastrous' night for the Tories
There are increasing calls for Theresa May to resign as Prime Minister and leader of the Conservative party after a disastrous night for the Tories.
The snap election ended in a hung parliament, with no party holding an absolute majority in the House of Commons. The Tories are the largest party but have fallen short of commanding the House of Commons and will need to form a coalition with smaller parties to govern.
Mrs May pledged to offer "stability" if the Tories end up as the largest party with the most votes.
Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn called on the Prime Minister to resign, saying she should "go and make way for a government that is truly representative of this country".
