Ban on sexist adverts - have we gone too far?
The ASA have said that from next year new rules will be in force to ban inappropriate and sexist adverts.
The ASA found evidence that adverts with gender stereotypes "can restrict the choices, aspirations and opportunities of children, young people and adults". Ads featuring women cleaning up after their family, or men failing to do housework, are among those that face being banned under the new rules.
