Around three million people across the UK are preparing to take a break from the booze by taking part in the Dry January phenomenon.
After over-indulging during the festive period, many believe ditching the hangover for 31 days will make us healthier and happier. But others say cutting out alcohol - even for a month - can do serious harm to our social lives.
We debate the issue with author Helen Croydon who believes a month off alcohol can only be a good thing, and former glamour model and CBB star Nicola McLean who says people who sober up for 'Dry January' are irritating and smug.
