Are you in favour of baby gender reveal parties?
I would have organised a party after finding out the sex of our 4th child Chloe
Is it appropriate for parents to hold a party with friends and family to reveal the sex of their new baby after the 20 week scan, or is it just another over-the-top example of parents gloating over their pregnancy?
The celebration is common place in the US and is now starting to spread across the pond with the internet full of stories, including from celebrities. Made in Chelsea stars Binky and JP are the latest celebs to organise a good old knees up after finding out the gender of their baby.
We were joined on this morning's show by mum-of-one Rachel Massey, who is 21 weeks pregnant, and only last weekend hosted a party to celebrate. Plus journalist Helen Croydon who thinks the parties are just self indulgent.
Helen, who doesn't have children, said 'it's consumerism gone mad and that there's a certain amount of smugness about it'. She also said that instead of celebrating these life milestone events which revolve around family and couples we should focus on moments that are more personal to the individual.
Richard Madeley described the moment that Judy revealed the sex of their fourth child Chloe, a happy accident, and that if it was common place to have gender reveal parties at the time, he would have been chomping at the bit to draw up the invite list.
