Spain wrote their names in European Championship folklore retaining the trophy and becoming the first team to score more than three goals in the Final.

The hammering they inflicted on the normally defensively rock solid Italy was largely down to an attacking masterclass which further strenghtens their case as the greatest ever international football side.
