Ones to watch: David Ospina - Colombia

Age: 29Club: ArsenalCaps: 86

The highest-capped player in the Colombia squad at the World Cup, David Ospina has rarely had the chance to shine domestically but remains a critical part of the hopes of a nation.

It was four years ago that Ospina really came to the attention of the wider world, starring for Colombia at Brazil 2014. At the time he played for Nice, in France, but Arsenal moved to sign him straight after the finals.

In four years with the Gunners he is yet to even reach 100 appearances, largely thanks to the experienced and excellent Petr Cech ahead of him, but often in cup matches he has displayed the traits which first attracted the admiration of Arsene Wenger: great reflexes, bravery, the capacity to make improbable saves.

In Brazil four years ago, Ospina made saves and won plaudits as he helped Colombia concede just four goals en route to the quarter-finals.

His performances across the next year saw him named on the initial Ballon d'Or list; it hasn't gone quite as well for him since, but for Colombia he remains a national hero.

Just three goals conceded in the last six matches in World Cup qualifying helped Los Cafeteros to the finals in Russia, and there he will be an undisputed first name on the team-sheet.

Ospina doesn't turn 30 until the new season and still has plenty of time ahead of him as a goalkeeper - and he'll hope that another star showing at a World Cup finals will remind clubs of his undoubted ability.
