Laura Woods to present ITV's England Women coverage
Laura Woods will host ITV’s coverage of England Women’s Senior team’s tournament qualifiers and friendlies.
The announcement follows news of ITV’s four year deal to broadcast the Lionesses' efforts to reach both World Cup and European Championships as well as friendly games, live and free to air on ITV, ITV4 and ITV Hub from this season up to and including 2024/25.
Laura, who has over a decade of broadcasting experience and is a presenter at TalkSPORT, Sky Sports and DAZN, will begin her new role next week, anchoring coverage of England’s opening FIFA Women’s World Cup qualifying match against North Macedonia at Southampton’s St Mary’s Stadium on Friday 17 September.
ITV’s coverage of England Women will also feature familiar figures from ITV’s football broadcasts with regular studio guests set to include Ian Wright and Eni Aluko, as well as commentary from Seb Hutchinson and co-commentary from Emma Hayes.
Laura said: "This is a real honour for me. It's such an exciting time for women's football and I’ve loved watching the game go from strength to strength. I can't wait to join the team at ITV, and rub shoulders with the best in the business, presenting some really important games for the Lionesses.”
Coverage of England v North Macedonia Women begins at 6.15pm on 17 September on ITV4. This is followed by Luxembourg v England at 6.45pm on 21 September.
This new deal means ITV is now the home of both the England Women and England Men senior teams, with ITV showing the men’s senior side’s World Cup, European Championship and friendly games, home and away, until 2022.
ITV Sport’s portfolio of first class events also includes the FA Cup from 2021/22 season, the 6 Nations and exclusive coverage of the Rugby World Cup, UK horse racing and the Tour de France.
