Gerrard: We're guilty of putting pressure on individuals
Former England captain Steven Gerrard has jokingly blamed Wayne Rooney for the intense scrutiny around his international performances by suggesting the forward is "too good."
Rooney's former Three Lions team-mate also accused our country of applying too much pressure on individual players, and suggested the spotlight has already started shining on Raheem Sterling.
Gerrard was speaking exclusively to ITV Football's Matt Smith ahead of England v Slovenia on Saturday, when Rooney will win his 100th cap.
