Five things we've learned: Belgium 3-0 Panama
Panama's defensive star, Lukaku's undoubted quality and more. Five things we learned from Belgium vs Panama
PANAMA CAN ABSORB PRESSURE
The first half saw a good display of grit from Panama who sustained pressure, but it's a game of two halves and ultimately they lost conceding three second-half goals. They will need to hold their resilience for ninety minutes in their next game against England.
BELGIUM CAN PLAY AS A TEAM
Although they are made up of great individuals, there's been question marks whether they can gel, but Roberto Martinez proved he can coach them to play as a team today.
LUKAKU IS TOP DRAWER
Although he had a quiet first half with only seven touches, Lukaku netted twice after the break which will give him a lot of confidence going into the next two Group G games against Tunisia and England.
PANAMA LACK A CUTTING EDGE
Despite the scoreline, Belgium were frustrated for large portions of the match against Panama and had the Central American side taken their chances, it could have been a different story.
Thibaut Courtois had to be quick off his line to stop Murillo's goalbound effort at point-blank range with the score at 1-0.
Concede, and it might not have been quite so comfortable for the Red Devils
ROMAN TORRES IS A LIVEWIRE
Panama aren't blessed with a squad boasting household names, but centre-back Roman Torres could be about to change that.
He's already well known as quite a character off the pitch but for large portions of the match it was the Seattle Sounders man who kept Belgian's constellation of attacking stars at bay with some exemplary defending.
