England whispers suggest Vardy won't start
The media in Chantilly appears to be universally agreed that - like you and me - Jamie Vardy will be watching the start of England v Russia rather than being at the centre circle.
An unnamed leak from the England camp - apparently stronger than the scribbles on Ray Lewington's notepad earlier this week - reportedly claims Vardy and James Milner will make way for Adam Lallana and Raheem Sterling.
The proposed team to face Russia therefore is expected to line up in a 4-3-3 formation: Hart; Walker, Smalling, Cahill, Rose; Dier, Rooney, Alli; Lallana, Kane, Sterling
The Leicester goalscorer had been largely tested in wide roles in the warm-ups but had been seen by many as a significant threat to Russia's slow defence.
ITV pundit Ian Wright was among those citing Vardy as a potential game-changer ahead of tomorrow night's clash, live on ITV.
