Croatia fined £77,000 by UEFA for crowd disorder
The Croatian Football Federation has been fined 100,000 Euros (£77,000) following crowd disturbances, the throwing of missiles, use of fireworks and racist behaviour during the game against the Czech Republic on June 18, UEFA has announced.
Croatian supporters forced the Group D clash in Saint-Etienne to be halted in the second half when fighting broke out in the stands and flares were thrown onto the pitch.
Czech Republic came from two goals down to claim a 2-2 draw with Croatia after the disturbance, courtesy of a late Tomas Necid penalty.
The UEFA fine also covers racist chanting among the Croatian fans, and Europe's governing body have warned the CFF not to sell tickets to known hooligans.
