Picture preview: Declan's demise (23-27 Dec)

Megan's worried about Declan's delusional behaviour over the business.

Learning the bank has decided to repossess Home Farm, Megan has no choice but to sack Sam right before Christmas. Later, when Declan drops a present off with Sam, he gets the cold shoulder and explains how Megan gave him his marching orders.

Declan confronts Megan and demands to know what’s going on. When Megan finally hits him with truth about the repossession, his anger spills over and he pushes her against the wall. Megan's had enough and packs her bags.

Later on, Charity joins Declan for a drink in the Woolpack (as Jai watches) before they head back to Home Farm together. But Charity's disturbed by Declan's strange attitude and soon leaves. However, worried about the way she left things, she decides to go back to Home Farm and arrives to see Declan with a petrol can...

Declan's shocked he's been caught in the act of pouring petrol around the house. Charity tries to talk sense into him but Declan is hell bent on destroying everything, including himself.

Declan continues to douse the house with petrol, lighting a match and dropping it on the Christmas tree.

Meanwhile at Wishing Well, Sam and Rachel have just announced they're getting when Sam hears about the Home Farm fire. Having broken in to Home Farm earlier to return presents he stole earlier, knocking over the Christmas tree in the process, Sam panics that maybe he started it. He tells Rachel about the Christmas tree and rushes off to see if there's anything he can do.

The fire has now engulfed Home Farm and the fire crew desperately try their best to put it out. But where's Declan?

Home Farm is burnt to a shell. The fire investigators question Sam about the fire and his nerves take over. Although Rachel tries to reassure him that he didn't cause the fire, Sam is not convinced.

Will the investigators discover it was Declan who started the fire?
