Weatherfield's most famous dogs made an appearance at Coronation Street The Tour, in celebration of National Pet Month.

On Thursday 16th April, guests of the Tour were able to meet and have a picture taken with Chesney’s Great Dane Schmeichel, Maria’s Labrador Ozzy and the Barlow’s Border Terrier Eccles.

Both Ozzy and Eccles took a break from filming to pay a visit to the former Coronation Street set.

Schmeichel was played by four different Great Danes, the final animal actor to play the role was also called Schmeichel and was the grandson of Spike, the third dog to play Chesney’s beloved pet.
