First Look: Michelle scorned!
We spoke to Kym Marsh and Simon Gregson about what's next for the McDonalds...
This is the moment when Steve and Liz find themselves locked out of the Rovers by a furious Michelle!
The scenes which will air on Monday night (Feb 27th) see Michelle decide to take action to force Steve to give her a divorce and half of his assets.
Michelle enlists the help of Johnny and Kate Connor to barricade herself in the pub, leaving a stunned Steve and Liz on the street outside.
Kym Marsh...
How did it feel to finally film the scenes where Michelle found out the truth?
It was great. We were all looking forward to how seeing how it would come to a head and we weren’t disappointed. For Steve to blurt it out in such a public way was brilliant and so much more dramatic than if he had sat Michelle down in private and told her.
And for it to come at a time when Michelle was finally starting to see that there might be a way forward for them both following Ruairi’s death made it all the more poignant.
What was it like filming the punch scene with Jane?
It was brilliant and I don’t think people saw it coming. Michelle has a great right hook and we did it in one take. Our fight arranger explained that it is all about the follow through which makes it look real so we just went for it.
Michelle was never going to leave quietly was she! She is devastated and so so angry with Leanne. She thought she was her friend and she feels so betrayed by both her and Steve.
Simon Gregson...
Is Steve going to regret telling the truth?
I think his only only regret will be the way it happened and the people that have been hurt because of his actions. Deep down he feels he has done the right thing by his son. He couldn’t live with the guilt any more and he just wanted to be honest and not have any more lies.
Does he think he can get Michelle back?
He loves Michelle and desperately wants to get her back but he realises just how difficult this is going to be when he and Liz find themselves locked out of the Rovers. Michelle tells him she wants a divorce and she wants to take him for half of everything.
He has to call the police to get into his own pub - it is going to get very messy for him.
How does Steve get himself in these situations?
It is typical Steve, he doesn’t do anything by halves, he acts first and thinks later and that is why he always finds himself in the middle of a mess of his own making.
He should have come clean at the very beginning about Leanne and then he might have had a chance of seeing things through with Michelle, but it’s too late now.
How would he feel if Michelle turned to Robert for comfort?
He would be devastated, he loves Michelle to bits and the thought of anyone else touching her would drive him wild.
